Work with me...

One-to-one therapy for women who are ready to understand themselves differently.

If you’ve found your way here, you probably look completely fine from the outside.

You’re capable, competent, and you get things done. You hold a lot – for other people, for your work, for everyone who relies on you. You’ve been doing it so long it’s become invisible, even to you.

But something underneath has been unresolved for a while. Not necessarily a crisis – you’re not falling apart (on the outside anyway). More a quiet, persistent sense that you’ve succeeded at everything except feeling like yourself. That the person everyone else sees and the person you actually are have slowly become strangers to each other.

You might never describe yourself as high-achieving. Other people would. What I notice is the load – and the particular exhaustion that comes from carrying it so well that nobody thinks to ask if you’re okay.

This is the work I do. Not fixing you (because I don’t believe that you’re broken) but creating a space where you can slow down, look honestly at what’s been shaping your experience, and begin to relate to yourself differently.

How I Work

My approach is integrative, but fundamentally person-centred. That means the relationship between us is central to how the work happens – not a backdrop to it, but the thing that makes it possible. I believe you already carry the capacity to find your own way; my role is to create the conditions where that becomes accessible. Where it’s useful, I’ll draw on other frameworks – relational, trauma-informed, and somatic (body-based) approaches – bringing them in as and when they serve what you’re working through, rather than fitting you into a predetermined model.

Sessions are exploratory and open-ended. There’s no agenda I bring in, no worksheet to complete, no box to tick. We follow what you bring – what feels present, what keeps coming up, what you’ve never quite had words for before. Sometimes that’s a specific event or experience. Sometimes it’s a pattern you’ve noticed in yourself. Sometimes you won’t know where to start, and that’s completely fine.

The work tends to go deeper over time. Most of my clients work with me long-term, because the kind of change we’re looking at – in how you relate to yourself, to others, to your own nervous system – doesn’t happen in six sessions. That said, some clients come for a shorter period of focused work, and we’ll always move at a pace that feels right for you.

What we might explore together...

There’s no fixed list of what therapy can or can’t cover. But some of the themes that come up most often in my work include:

The exhaustion of being the capable one – and not knowing how to be anything else

People-pleasing: where it came from, what it costs you, and why it’s so hard to stop

The gap between who you are to everyone else and who you are to yourself

Anxiety, overthinking, and the constant low hum of feeling not quite enough

Relationships where you feel too much, not enough, or like you’ve disappeared

Patterns formed early – the eldest daughter, the one who sorted things out, the one who learned to read the room to stay safe

Trauma and its effects on your body, your sense of self, and the way you move through the world

Learning to trust yourself – your instincts, your feelings, your own account of your experience

If something you’re carrying isn’t on this list, it doesn’t mean I can’t help. Get in touch and we can talk it through.

The Practical Bits

Sessions
Sessions last 50 minutes and take place weekly, at a regular time that stays yours. Most clients find a weekly rhythm helpful, particularly at the start — it builds continuity and gives the work somewhere to go between sessions.

In person or online?
I work from a private room in my home in Ramsbottom, Lancashire. It’s a quiet, comfortable space – separate from the rest of the house, designed to feel contained and calm.

Online sessions take place via a secure video platform and are available to anyone across the UK. Many of my clients prefer working from home, and the quality of the work is no different.

How long will I need to come?

That’s genuinely hard to answer. Therapy isn’t linear, and how long it takes depends on what you’re carrying, how ready you feel to explore it, and what pace feels manageable. What I can say is that most of my clients stay for longer than they expected – not because they have to, but because they find the work valuable.

We review how things are going regularly, and you’re always in charge of when it’s right to end.

If you have questions about what to expect, you can read some of the questions clients often ask before starting here.

Cost

Sessions are £70. Payment is made by card or bank transfer 48 hours before each session.

I offer a small number of reduced-rate places for students – please ask if this is relevant to you.

Cancellations

I ask for 48 hours’ notice for cancellations where possible. Late cancellations or missed sessions are charged at the full rate – I’ll always discuss this with you openly before we begin.

A note on what I don’t cover…

I work with a wide range of experiences, but I’m not the right therapist for everyone. I don’t currently work with eating disorders or addiction as the primary focus of therapy – not because these experiences aren’t valid, but because they’re best supported by practitioners with specialist training in those areas.

If you’re unsure whether I’m the right fit for what you’re carrying, please get in touch. I’d rather have an honest conversation than have you wonder.

How to get started:

The first step is a free 15-minute introductory call.

It’s not an assessment, and it’s not a commitment. It’s just a conversation – a chance for you to get a feel for how I work, ask anything you want to know, and decide whether this feels right.

From there, if we both feel it’s a good fit, we’ll arrange your first session and agree a regular time that works for you.

There's no pressure to have it all figured out before you reach out. Most people who contact me aren't sure yet - they just know something needs to change. That's enough to start.
