We’re told so often that January is supposed to feel like a fresh start, a blank page, a chance to reset.
But if you’re reading this, there’s a good chance it doesn’t feel that way for you at all.
Instead, you might feel flat, tearful, foggy, irritable, or strangely empty. You might be back at work, back to routines, back to looking like you’re coping… while inside you feel like something quietly collapsed when the calendar flipped over to 2026.

FAQs
What is counselling?
Counselling is a confidential space where you can talk about your thoughts, feelings, and challenges with a trained professional. A counsellor helps you explore your emotions, understand patterns in your life, and develop coping strategies, but they don’t tell you what to do.
How do I know if I need counselling?
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low, or struggling with relationships, work, or personal challenges, counselling can provide support and guidance to help you navigate your difficulties.
How long does counselling take?
The number of sessions varies depending on your needs. Some people feel better after a few sessions, while others may benefit from ongoing support over several months. Your counsellor can help you decide what’s right for you.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes, counselling is confidential, which means what you discuss stays between you and your counsellor. The only exceptions are if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if required by law. Your counsellor will explain confidentiality in more detail during your first session.
How do I choose the right counsellor?
Look for a qualified counsellor with experience in the area you need support with. Many offer an initial consultation to see if they are the right fit for you. It’s important to feel comfortable and safe with your counsellor.
